Thursday = Friday

Based on a couple of conversations last night, I offer the following:

First, "Everyone's a Little bit Racist," from the Broadway show Avenue Q. If you're not familiar with it, it's a great show. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of showtunes in general, but I have the soundtrack for this and love it. With song titles like this one, "The Internet is for Porn," and "It Sucks to be Me," you really just can't go wrong. Plus, it's R-rated puppets. 'Nuff said.

(I couldn't find a decent clip of the actual show, so I picked this one for the irony of putting a song about racism against Star Wars footage, after the flak that George took over Jar-Jar and some of his characters.)

And second, a truly honest R&B song. Just because.

Have a great weekend, kids.

bawahahahaaaa...the you tube clip is great. Avenue Q is a great show. I always want to sing "for porn" after anyone makes a statement about the internet.

lem - My favorite thing about that song is the guy doing backup, and the single best part of the whole thing, for me, is "chafing."

carrie m - I find it's very similar to the Beavis reflex (e.g. "heh heh, you said 'knob'"). I'm just waiting for the production to come through here, cuz I will be all over it.

Interesting related aside: I have a friend who was in a traveling production of Les Mis, understudying Fantine, and the lead ended up leaving that tour to go start an Ave Q tour as Gary Coleman. And yes, I still find it funny that they cast Gary Coleman with a girl. Because yes, I'm 12.
